Before the campaigning comes to an end for 5th phase uttar pradesh elections,  Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi put his best foot forward on Monday to garner support for the Congress candidates by holding a five hour non stop roadshow. Young girls and women waving tricoloured Congress flags, groups of children waiting by the roadside, vying with each other to shake hands and garland the Congress star campaigner were all there on Monday.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati alleged on Gandhi family, she said that UP elections have always been a big picnic. FIR against Rahul for infringement roadshow rules

The Kanpur district administration registered a case agninst congress star campaigner Rahul Gandhi for flouting restrictions on his six-hour road show in the city on Sunday.Police slapped cases on Rahul and the Kanpur district Congress chief for disobedience to order by public servant’, causing ‘danger or obstruction in public way’ and creating ‘public nuisance’. The case was registered on a complaint by area police chowkiin-charge Satyendra Singh.

Muslime quota remark part of the manifesto: Beni Prasad

Union Steel Minister and Congress leader Beni Prasad Verma on Monday said that the quota remark was part of the party manifesto, thay said on his reply to Election Commission’s showcause notice over the minorities’ sub-quota remark. Verma also said that he didn’t mean to violate the model code of conduct and expressed his regret that such an impression is created. The Congress leader also said that he respects the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, defending the Union minister on the minorities’ sub-quota issue, the Congress on Monday said the party leader holds the poll authority in the highest esteem.

Mayawati alleged on Congress for corruption

Attacking on Congress Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati on Monday said why the Congress party was not uttering a single word on graft and price rise.
