BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said the party will not enter into alliance with any political party to form government in Uttar Pradesh. Criticising the ruling BSP government, Gadkari said that it was a “wholesale shop of corruption”. “BSP is a wholesale shop of corruption. He also termed RLD leader Ajit Singh as a “kali pili taxi” that “any one car hire him for short term benefits”.
BJP is not anti-Muslim, but on the name of religion the reservation is not acceptable, Gadkari said.
An estimated 57 per cent votes were today cast in the sixth and penultimate phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in 68 seats across 13 districts, popularly known as the Jat land, where voting was by and large peaceful. Among the more than 1,000 candidates testing their luck in the sixth phase was Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh’s son Jayant Chaudhury.

UP assembly elections 2012, Congress announced its seventh list of candidates for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections comprising five candidates, taking the total number of nominees to 358 in the 403-member House. Congress has left 45 seats to Ajit Singh’s RLD with which it has reached alliance last month. The seats for RLD have been given in Singh’s stronghold of Western UP.
The five candidates whose names were announced are Isauli Moid Ahmed (Sadar), Jai Narayan Tewari (Kunda) Rama Shankar Yadav (Robertsganj), Krishna Pratap Singh (Obra) and Rajnarain Singh.

The RLD chife Ajit Singh, who has sewed up an alliance with the Congress, today released a list of 17 candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly election, Party chief Chaudhary Ajit Singh has released the first list of candidates for the assembly election, RLD general secretary and spokesman Anil Dubey said here.
The candidates included sitting MLA Nawab Kokab Hameed who would contest from Baghpat, he said adding UP RLD head Hardev Singh would be the party’s nominee from Eitmadpur, Former minister and MLC Munna Singh Chauhan would contest from Bikapur seat in Faizabad district, the spokesman said.

Alleging the Mayawati government was neck-deep in corruption, RLD chief Ajit Singh on Tuesday asked the people to oust it in next year’s Assembly polls. Previous governments in the state too had “cheated” people and failed to address their problems, Singh said. He asked the people to vote for his party’s candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections.
