Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2012 the three state-level parties Bundelkhand Congress, Peace Party and Apna Dal formally an alliance between them in Lucknow on Tuesday to contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections jointly. “The three parties have decided to contest Assembly elections jointly and an effort will be made to provide a strong alternative to the people,” National President of Peace Party Mohammed Ayub told reporters in Lucknow.

A new party, the Bundelkhand Congress has come up in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2012 Assembly elections. The Bollywood artiste Raja Bundela who also is the president of Bundelkhand Mukti Morcha (BMM) has launched the party that would contest all the 27 Assembly constituencies in the region and ten adjacent constituencies that are topographically similar to Bundelkhand.
On the occasion, Bundela said his party will contest in 33 seats of Bundelkhand in 2012 assembly elections. The main poll issue of the party would be a separate Bundelkhand state comprising seven districts of UP and four of Madhya Pradesh.
