BJP Release its Manifesto Today

The BJP, which has already released its vision document, for all round development of the state will release its manifesto today in presence of senior leaders of the party, including national vice-presidents Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Kalraj Mishra, Uma Bharati, general secretary Narendra Singh Tomar and state president Surya Pratap Shahi

BJP’s election manifesto for Uttar Pradesh release today, with focus on education, health, employment and law and order. The manifesto will also give due consideration to problems of farmers, dalits, backwards, poor and unemployed youths.

UP polls: Kalraj denies reports about Uma comment

BJP vice-president Kalraj Mishra has denied reports that he had ruled out senior party colleague Uma Bharti as a contender for the post of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister since she was an outsider. Mr Mishra added that the party’s Parliamentary Board, which is the highest decision making body, will decide the Chief Ministerial candidate if it wins the UP Assembly elections.

UP polls: BJP allegation on Congress to communal divide

The Bharatiya Janata Party charged the ruling Congress Party of following an appeasement policy to woo voters in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.  Kalraj Mishra described it as unfortunate that the Congress Party is inciting people on the basis of religion.

This government (Congress) is receiving full support from the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party and these three parties are trying to divide the society, appeasing people on the basis of religion is unconstitutional and is a move towards creating a communal divide in the country, Mishra  said.

Kalraj Mishra to be BJP UP election campaign committee chief

BJP President Nitin Gadkari today appointed party vice-president and Rajya Sabha MP Kalraj Mishra as the head of the election campaign committee for Uttar Pradesh where polls are due in May next year.

BJP aims to win back the upper caste votes in the state. Former party president Rajnath Singh has also become active in the state after his tenure got over last year. He is trying to woo the Thakurs to the party.

While the latter will continue in office, Mishra is likely to run the show in Uttar Pradesh during the crucial assembly elections in 2012.
