BJP’s election manifesto for Uttar Pradesh release today, with focus on education, health, employment and law and order. The manifesto will also give due consideration to problems of farmers, dalits, backwards, poor and unemployed youths.
BJP vice-president Kalraj Mishra has denied reports that he had ruled out senior party colleague Uma Bharti as a contender for the post of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister since she was an outsider. Mr Mishra added that the party’s Parliamentary Board, which is the highest decision making body, will decide the Chief Ministerial candidate if it wins the UP Assembly elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party charged the ruling Congress Party of following an appeasement policy to woo voters in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. Kalraj Mishra described it as unfortunate that the Congress Party is inciting people on the basis of religion.
