BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Congress has accepted defeat with a “self goal”, while pointing towards the statement of Congress leader Sriprakash Jaiswal that there was a possibility of President’s rule in UP. Union Minister Jaiswal had said yesterday that if Congress fails to get a majority in UP Assembly polls he sees a possibility of President’s rule. Naqvi said that even before the declaration of results BSP and SP have “lost the game”. He was speaking in Nehru Nagar area of the city.

UP Polls: BJP demands resignation of salman Khurshid

Salman Khurshid, while campaigning for his wife Louise, a Congress candidate from Farrukhabad assembly constituency in UP, had announced that his party would increase the sub-quota for minorities to nine per cent, out of the 27 percent Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation.  BJP demanded the resignation of Law Minister Salman Khurshid on this issue.

Naqvi’s allegation on ruling BSP and SP

BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi hit out at the ruling BSP and the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh ,alleging that the  Uttar Pradesh has become a haven for terrorists and separatists over the last decade, during the regimes of Mayawati and Mulayam Singh. SIMI and HuJI both have flourished in the state during this period.

Narendra Modi to campaign in UP from Jan 31

BJP will unleash all its senior leaders  including Narendra Modi in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh from January 31.the BJP party’s campaign plans give a clear indication that it will make a major issue of the Centre’s decision to provide reservation to backward minorities in a bid to consolidate its OBC base.

Party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party is beginning its aggressive election campaign in UP from January 20 starting a series of Satta Badlo Padyatra while large rallies by national leaders will follow from 31st of this month.
