Mukhtar Ansari will campaign in UP polls

Delhi court given granted custody parole till February 9 to mafia don turned politician Mukhtar Ansari for campaigning in coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in which he is a candidate. The court, while directing proper security for Ansari during the campaigning, also directed him to bear all the expenses incurred for his security.

Ansari is contesting the election from Mau constituency and Gosi constituency scheduled to be held on February 11. The applicant as stated is also the sitting MLA of Mau constituency, UP. Ansari brothers launched their own political outfit Quami Ekta Party

With every political party closing its doors in their faces, the Ansari brothers launched their own political outfit “Quami Ekta Party” in Eastern UP’s Mau.

The brothers are former Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari, Mohammadabad MLA Sibgat Ullah Ansari and Mau’s jailed MLA Mukhtar Anasari.

Afzal and Mukhtar, the BSP candidates from Ghazipur and Varanasi in the last Lok Sabha elections, had been expelled by party chief Mayawati some time ago.

Earlier, they had deserted the SP, which is not interested in taking them back. Neither is the Congress and the BJP has always been very vocal against them.
