Upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls, the big national parties woo the backward Muslims and the Dalits, looking to play spoiler is the Peace Party with its unique formula for the backward vote. In Chandausi, a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency, the Peace Party’s candidate is Sarvesh – a Dalit Hindu – who also became Shabnam after her marriage to Shauqin Ahmed 15 years ago.
This approach is natural social engineering at its best and fits in perfectly with the Peace Party’s larger scheme of garnering Muslim support with giving tickets to Hindus based on a caste calculus.

With assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh a year away, Rastriya Lok Dal (RLD) today held a meeting of the newly-constituted front of small parties and named it Lok Kranti Morcha.
“Lok Kranti Morcha will fight to provide clean and corruption free administration in the state,” RLD spokesman Anil Dubey said.
RLD national president Ajit Singh was elected Chairman of the Morcha, and Peace Party President Ayub its Secretary General.
