Polling on 60 seats, seventh and final phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections covering 60 constituencies began on a slow note today with around 11% of voters exercising their franchise in first two hours. in ten districts polling began at 7 am and 10.6% polling was registered in first two hours, chief electoral officer Umesh Sinha said.
More than 1.82 crore voters would decide the fate of 962 candidates including some political veterans in Bijnore, Moradabad, Bheem Nagar, Rampur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri.
Polling for the seventh and final phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections covering 60 constituencies began this morning amidst tight security arrangements. This final phase covers Bijnore, Moradabad, Bheem Nagar, Rampur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri in which more than 1.82 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise.
Thousands of voters queued up outside polling booths almost 38 per cent of the 2.17 crore voters had cast their franchise by 1 pm in sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly election. Discussing the first two hours of polling, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said, “While the overall turnout was estimated at 9.7 per cent at 9 am this morning, the highest polling was reported from Hathras where a record 20 per cent was witnessed during the first two hours of the poll.”

UP assembly elections sixth phase polling picked up covering 68 seats with about 24 % of the over 2.17 crore voters exercising their franchise in the first four hours. “Polling started at 7 AM and 23.88 per cent votes were polled in the first four hours,” Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said.

The BJP complained against Jaiswal’s remarks to Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha, who has forwarded the complaint to the Election Commission in Delhi. Sinha said, “A complaint from the BJP had been received here and the same has been forwarded to Election Commission in Delhi for further necessary action.”
EC’s deputy election commissioner Vinod Zutshi, who takes care of elections in Uttar Pradesh, said, “The CEO in UP has received a complaint from the BJP against Jaiswal and the CEO has been asked to send the same to the EC.”
Polling for the fifth phase of UP assembly elections started at 7 AM amidst tight security arrangements, 9.88 per cent votes were cast in the first two hours of voting. covering 49 seats spread over 13 district, including Bundelkhand region. Chief Electoral Officer of UP Umesh Sinha said here.
Maximum 13.5 per cent votes were polled in Mainpuri, followed by 13.33 per cent in Etah district. Minimum 8 per cent polling was registered in Hamirpur and Etawah districts.
