UP Polls: 38.76% polling recorded till 1 pm

Uttar Pradesh polls, 38.76 %  polling recorded till 1 pm in the fifth phase of assembly elections, covering 49 seats spread over 13 districts, including Bundelkhand region. Polling started at 7 am amidst tight security arrangements and 23.75 per cent votes were reportedly cast by 11 am.

Polling is underway in Firozabad, Kanshiram Nagar, Etah, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Ramabainagar, Kanpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur and Mahoba districts. The polling is being held at 17,267 polling stations at 11,745 centres. While 2,104 stations have been identified as sensitive, 2,256 have been marked as hyper-sensitive.

Polling in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections recorded 23.75 % by 11 am in the fifth phase of assembly elections, covering 49 seats spread over 13 districts, including Bundelkhand region. Polling started at 7 am amidst tight security arrangements and 9.88 per cent votes were cast in the first two hours of voting, Chief Electoral Officer of UP Umesh Sinha said.

UP Polls: 9.88 % polling in first two hours

Polling for the fifth phase of UP assembly elections started at 7 AM amidst tight security arrangements, 9.88 per cent votes were cast in the first two hours of voting. covering 49 seats spread over 13 district, including Bundelkhand region.  Chief Electoral Officer of UP Umesh Sinha said here.

Maximum 13.5 per cent votes were polled in Mainpuri, followed by 13.33 per cent in Etah district. Minimum 8 per cent polling was registered in Hamirpur and Etawah districts.

Fifth phase polls acid test for Mulayam, Uma Bharti

The prestige of Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and that of Bhartiya Janata Party star campaigner Uma Bharti will be at stake during the fifth round of the seven-phased Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections on Thursday. Sharat Pradhan reports.

Mulayam willing for alliance with Congress: Rahul

Congress star campaigner Rahul Gandhi in a public rally in Moradabad said the Samajwadi Party was keen on forging an alliance with the Congress for the Uttar Pradesh assembly poll but his party had rejected it. UP assembly election,  the fifth phase  of polls  may form the very foundation of Samajwadi Party’s prospects in terms of party’s final tally.
